May 11th: As announced this morning on the main page, Lance Storm is making his return to Ring of Honor (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2767)! He will wrestle during both events when ROH returns to Toronto on July 24th and 25th! ROH officials are working diligently to find two matches that will showcase Storm’s incredible talents. Tickets are on sale now for these events at www.rohwrestling.com, and they will be known as “Death Before Dishonor VII: Legends Edition”! Don’t miss out on this historic weekend that already includes appearances by Bret “Hitman” Hart and “Nature Boy” Ric Flair.

May 11th: One of our biggest sales to ever take place at ROHWrestling.com is back. You can now save 35-40% Off Your Next Order. Don't delay as time is running out. Full details on the sale, along with the discount codes can be found here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2767.

May 11th: The Super Smash Brothers made a great impression on both the ROH fans and officials in both Boston and Edison; receiving “Please come back” chants from the ROH faithful. We are pleased to announce that they indeed will come back – and as part of Death Before Dishonor VII! They will be in action on July 24th and 25th in Toronto!

May 11th: HDNet cameras were in the house last Friday night in Boston, filming for several upcoming commercials as well as the first installments of “the Art of Pro Wrestling”, with your host, Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana! Coming soon to ROH on HDNet!

May 11th: Sonjay Dutt did not disappoint in Boston or Edison either. The charismatic veteran had two excellent showings despite coming up short on both nights, and to that end, has been added to the two big events on June 12th in Manassas and June 13th in New York City! Don’t forget that ROH Ambassador Ric Flair will also be in attendance on both nights! We’ll have Dutt’s opponents soon right here in the Newswire!

May 11th: Claudio Castagnoli and his associates in The Embassy certainly haven’t made any friends, and you can now add the Necro Butcher to their list of enemies after this past weekend. It seemed that Jimmy Rave was most disgusted by him. He took every opportunity to insult Necro by repeatedly spitting in his face. And while it was obvious to everyone that Jimmy wanted no part of Necro physically, he threw the first “punch” with his disgusting display. We’ll have more on this as it develops.

May 11th: Also announced this morning is the second of 6 main events that will take place when HDNet crews return to Philadelphia on May 29th and 30th to film 6 more weeks of “Ring of Honor Wrestling on HDNet”. The main page article says it all (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2768), it will be Roderick Strong versus Jay Briscoe in Philly! Jay came within eyelashes of winning the ROH World Title in Edison, and Roddy has been on fire since returning from Pro Wrestling NOAH. Friendly rivalries are great, but this one has been off the hook! Fans in St. Louis and Markham, Ontario can attest – you don’t want to miss this one! Plus, KENTA and “Nature Boy” Ric Flair! Tickets are on sale now!

May 11th: Just released and in stock is "Steel City Clash" from Elizabeth, PA from March 20th. This event features GHC Jr. Champion KENTA & El Generico vs. ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness & Davey Richards; Tyler Black & Necro Butcher vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Brodie Lee in a Falls Count Anywhere Match; Roderick Strong vs. Austin Aries; Bryan Danielson vs. Mike Quackenbush; plus more. To order this DVD click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/shoponline.asp?point=moreinfo&catid=187&id=3029.

May 11th: Could a new look for rohwrestling.com be in store soon? Keep your eyes peeled!

ROH Statement on this Weekend's Events

E-mail Print PDF
Ring of Honor received an email from Mike Quackenbush this afternoon informing us that due to injury, he too was being forced to pull out of this weekend's events in Boston, MA and Edison, NJ. Quackenbush advised that he's having further complications with his back and after seeing a specialist, has been told not to perform until the month after his upcoming operation. As many fans know, Quackenbush is scheduled for back surgery soon. We at ROH wish Mike a speedy recovery.

As a result of this unexpected situation, we are again forced to shift this weekend’s lineups.

Friday's event in Boston, MA will now see a Three Way Dance pitting Bryan Danielson vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Eddie Edwards. On Saturday in Edison, a match has been added to the event and will feature Kenny King & Rhett Titus in tag team action.

We realize that these two events have been ravaged by a number of injuries, which has caused the match lineups to change several times. To that end, ROH is adding a special meet & greet autograph session to both events this weekend that will take place during intermission with several stars from the ROH roster. In addition, for this weekend only our usual “Buy 3, Get 1 Free” ROH DVD Sale at the live events will be “Buy 3, Get 2 Free”.

We sincerely apologize for these unfortunate lineup changes and look forward to seeing everybody at the events this weekend.

May 5th: ROH officials spoke earlier today to both Tyler Black and the man he has selected to take his place in the World Tag Team Title match in Edison. Black once again expressed his apologies for not being able to perform for the fans in Edison, and especially to Bryan Danielson, as he firmly believes that he and Dragon can beat the American Wolves. Black went on to tell ROH officials that he hopes to be ready for action by May 29th in Philly, and that the man he chose to replace him this Saturday has accepted the offer. That man is no stranger to teaming with Danielson – in fact, he just gained a victory in Montreal with Dragon as a partner - and that man wants the Wolves blood on his hands in the worst way. That man is Kevin Steen. It will be Danielson and Steen versus the Wolves in Edison with the World Tag team titles on the line this Saturday night. Tickets are now on sale at www.rohwrestling.com.

May 5th: With the ROH Booking Committee granting Steen his petition to be a part of the World Tag Title match on Saturday, the card has been shuffled. Sonjay Dutt will now oppose “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero in singles action. Should Hero defeat Jerry Lynn in Boston he will defend the ROH World Title against Dutt.

May 5th: In case you haven’t been paying attention, ROH returns to Toronto and the Ted Reeve Arena on July 24th and 25th with a huge weekend of legends as both Ric Flair and Bret Hart will make appearances! Information on the Bret Hart signing can be found here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2759. Tickets for both autograph signing are now on sale. The question is; what more could there be in store?

May 5th: Added to the huge HDNet National Television Tapings on May 29th and 30th: Jimmy Jacobs, Claudio Castagnoli, Delirious, Daizee Haze, and MsChif. Don’t forget that KENTA and ROH Ambassador Ric Flair will also be in the house! We will announce the first of the 6 main events to be filmed that weekend in the next ROH Newswire!

May 5th: Don’t forget to keep up with ROH on Twitter at http://twitter.com/rohonhdnet. You can follow the day-to-day happenings of ROH and its stars at the click of your mouse!

May 5th: Only two days remain in The "Triple Savings Sale". This is a tremendous deal for those looking to purchase tickets for any upcoming live ROH events including this weekend in Boston & Edison. For complete details click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2151.

April 27th: We want to say thank you to the incredible fans in both Dayton, OH and Chicago, IL for the two excellent events this past weekend! Both cities brought big, enthusiastic crowds, and there is nothing better than that! ROH returns to Dayton on September 18th, and we’re back in Chicago on June 27th with the Chicago ROH debut of “Nature Boy” Ric Flair! Tickets to both events are on sale at www.rohwrestling.com .

April 27th: Tyler Black may have beaten Chris Hero in Chicago, but he came out worse for wear by the end of the night. Earlier in the event, Tyler and Jimmy Jacobs had a war of words, which ended with Tyler telling Jacobs he was pathetic and a disappointment. Jimmy sat in tears as Tyler walked off. Then later on, just after Black was successful in defeating Chris Hero, Jacobs struck, using his infamous railroad spike to bloody and batter Black. Tyler didn’t require medical attention, but once more his former mentor was inside his head. Jacobs refused comment, only smiling and muttering, “The means. The end. Justification is subjective.”

April 27th: Tickets are now on sale at www.rohwrestling.com for both events in Toronto at the Ted Reeve Arena on Friday, July 24th and Saturday, July 25th.

April 27th: El Generico was in contact with ROH officials this weekend after going over the results of his MRI with his doctors. We’re being told that there is significant damage to his knee, specifically to his Meniscus and Posterior Cruciate Ligament. As of now, Generico is being listed as doubtful for the ROH events in Boston, MA on May 8th and Edison, NJ on May 9th. As soon as we can confirm whether or not he’ll be in attendance it will be announced here in the Newswire.

April 27th: Kevin Steen and Jay Briscoe were set to do the improbable and win the World Tag Team Titles from Richards and Edwards last Saturday in Chicago. And for 90% of the battle it looked like it could happen. But an inadvertent shot to Briscoe’s groin late in the match by Steen seemed to derail the whole thing. The American Wolves retained the gold, and Steen and Briscoe were back to their old habits, bickering and shoving one another around. It ended with Jay Briscoe finally walking off alone and leaving Steen to his own disappointment. But with Mark Briscoe still on the shelf, and El Generico potentially about to be, Steen and Briscoe may have no other choice than to patch up whatever discontent their feeling, or the Tag Titles may end up too far out of reach. Both Steen and Briscoe will be a part of the National Television Tapings at the Arena in South Philly on May 29th and 30th.

April 27th: Injuries were an unfortunate theme this weekend in Dayton and Chicago. Roderick Strong received 10 stitches at a Dayton hospital to close the wound on his head that was suffered in his match against Jerry Lynn. Roddy braved the blood loss and fought valiantly, and both men dug deep to make the World Title match a classic. Jon Davis of the Dark City Fight Club also made a stop at the hospital before leaving Dayton. Davis suffered a dislocated wrist in the match against Jay Briscoe and Kevin Steen. With the wrist heavily wrapped and against doctor’s orders, Davis competed the next night in Chicago. Both Strong and Davis are not expected to miss time.

April 27th: The Buy 3, Get 1 Free Ring of Honor DVD Sale is ongoing at ROHWrestling.com. New ROH DVD releases include Stylin' & Profilin' from Collinsville, IL on 3/13/09. This event features the ROH debut of "Nature Boy" Ric Flair; Nigel McGuinness vs. Brent Albright for the ROH World Title; Tyler Black & Jerry Lynn vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Delirious; Bryan Danielson vs. Bison Smith; Wolves & Hero vs. Steen, Generico, & Dempsey; plus more. Also in stock is Insanity Unleashed from Indianapolis, IN on 3/14/09 featuring ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness & Austin Aries vs. Tyler Black & Jerry Lynn; The American Wolves vs. Roderick Strong & Brent Albright in a tremendous tag team match; Jimmy J acobs vs. Delirious No DQ Match; Bryan Danielson vs. Kenny Omega vs. Claudio Castagnoli; Kevin Steen & El Generico vs. Rhett Titus & Kenny King for the World Tag Team Titles plus more.

April 27th: Signed for the ROH on HDNet National television tapings taking place on May 29th and 30th: Current ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn, ROH World Tag Team Champions The American Wolves – Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards; Jimmy Rave w/ Prince Nana, Colt Cabana, Brodie Lee, Roderick Strong, and announced earlier in this Newswire, Kevin Steen and Jay Briscoe. In addition, already announced is KENTA and ROH Ambassador “Nature Boy” Ric Flair! More names will be announced as we get closer! The tapings take place once again at the Arena in South Philly. Great tickets are available at www.rohwrestling.com . Be a part of National Television!

Ring of Honor Newswire 4/23

April 23rd: We regret to inform the fans that El Generico will not be able to perform this weekend in Dayton or Chicago. He is meeting with his orthopedic surgeon today to review his MRI, but as of this morning, he was still unable to bend his knee or put any weight on it. Kevin Steen was in contact with ROH officials this morning as well, confirming Generico’s replacement for the weekend. Steen asked us not to announce anything until he has had a chance to address the fans himself, and to that end we offer a letter we received from Steen today at http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2744. Both matches that were scheduled for Steen and Generico will take place this weekend, which opens up a bunch of new possibilities.

April 23rd: Ring of Honor is back in the midwest this weekend for two big live events. On Friday night we return to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 1043 S. Main Street, Dayton, Ohio, 45409. Bell time is 8:00 PM. Jerry Lynn will make his first ROH World Title defense against Roderick Strong. Other matches include Tyler Black vs. ROH World Tag Team Champion Davey Richards; Bryan Danielson vs. ROH World Tag Team Champion Eddie Edwards; Kevin Steen & Jay Briscoe vs. The Dark City Fight Club; Colt Cabana vs. Chris Hero; Austin Aries & Rhett Titus vs. The Phoenix Twins; plus more. Tickets will be available to purchase at the door on the night of the show!!!

April 23rd: On Saturday night it's Colt Cabana's return to Chicago for "The Homecoming II". The event takes place at the Frontier Fieldhouse, 9807 Sayre Avenue, Chicago Ridge, IL 60415. Bell time is 7:30 PM. If he retains the championship in Dayton it will be Jerry Lynn defending vs. Colt Cabana for the ROH World Title. Also, The American Wolves defend the World Tag Team Titles against Kevin Steen & Jay Briscoe in a 2/3 Falls Match; Chris Hero vs. Tyler Black; Bryan Danielson vs. Jimmy Rave; Claudio Castagnoli vs. Roderick Strong vs. Jimmy Jacobs; Austin Aries & Rhett Titus vs. Alex "Sugarfoot" Payne & Silas Young; plus more. Tickets will be available to purchase at the door on the night of the show!!!

April 23rd: Don't forget to watch "Ring of Honor Wrestling" on HDNet this Saturday night at 8:00 PM. The main event is Tyler Black one on one with "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. In a Tag Team Grudge Match it's Chris Hero & Eddie Edwards vs. Jay Briscoe & Kevin Steen. The Dark City Fight Club & Nigel McGuinness are also in action. For more information visit http://www.hd.net/ringofhonor.html.

April 23rd: ROH officials are unsure as of now just how long El Generico will be out of action. We are hopeful that he will be able to compete in Boston on May 8th and Edison on May 9th. We will have another update on El Generico’s condition in Monday’s Newswire.

April 23rd: Singles competition is signed for Boston on May 8th as Delirious, fresh off of his brutal street fight victory over Jimmy Jacobs in Markham, comes to Beantown a new man. His opponent on May 8th is Ricky Reyes, who is simply looking to pad his wallet before heading back to WWC Puerto Rico. Delirious is anxious to show Boston that he’s back after finally putting the Age of the Fall behind him. Can he score the win in Celtic country?

April 23rd: Jerry Lynn is coming to Edison with an agenda – to prove “them” wrong. The ‘them’ he referred to is his naysayers, those who don’t think he’s capable of carrying the ROH World Title at the same level as former champions. Thus far, the voices of critics and armchair quarterbacks are only serving to fuel his desire to show why he’s the best. In Edison, Lynn has signed to face Jay Briscoe. And while it’s possible that he won’t be holding the World Title come May 9th, that’s immaterial. “I go out there every time and leave it all in the ring,” said Lynn. “And champion or not, I will continue to do that – whether certain fans respect that or not.”

April 23rd: The Buy 3, Get 1 Free Ring of Honor DVD Sale returns this weekend at ROHWrestling.com and the live events in Dayton & Chicago. Roderick Strong & Brent Albright in a tremendous tag team match; Jimmy Jacobs vs. Delirious No DQ Match; Bryan Danielson vs. Kenny Omega vs. Claudio Castagnoli; Kevin Steen & El Generico vs. Rhett Titus & Kenny King for the World Tag Team Titles plus more.

April 23rd: We’ll be back next week with the aftermath of this weekend’s Midwest loop as well as the first talent announcements for the May 29th and 30th HDNet National Television Tapings, which already include KENTA and the Ambassador of Honor, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair!
